The wave of ‘newness’ is fading away. We’re two weeks into the new year. What new marketing plans have you made for 2018?
A good place to kick-start would be revamping your website, perhaps? Or revisiting your social media strategies. A New Year is a great time to think of new ideas and ways to sell what you do.
Making resolutions is one thing. How do you stick with them? What exactly are the finer points you need to do in order to have our resolutions going? Here’s a mini check-list you can use:
1. REVISIT YOUR MARKET POSITIONING
Are you still selling what you did last year? Have your business goals changes? Re-align your thoughts and write down your new market positioning as the top-most item on your agenda for the year.
2. FRESH CREATIVES
Still running around with a decade old set of creatives on your website and social channels? Perhaps you can change a few images, if not all, here and there to add some zing to your virtual presence.
3. MAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA CALENDAR
Use a hardbound calendar if it will help you better stay on course. First, write what you want your followers/customers should know about you. Prioritize and organize your points based on your new market positioning. Chalk up a plan to post for a month on one Social Channel alone. Yes, do it for a month for starts. They say 30 days of doing something makes it a habit. Why not try?
4. EMAILS! EMAILS!
Remember the new customer from Feb last year? He probably needs a fresh perspective of how you still care for him. Send out emails to your customers telling them about your plans. That way you will ensure you stick to them, too! A virtual commitment of sorts.
5. REVAMP YOUR WEBSITE
Everyone needs one. And, if you already have one.. why not refresh it? Look up your competition. Look up top website designs. See what inspires you, and make it happen!
6. AUTOMATE BORING MARKETING TASKS
Why not save yourself some time and get some yoga in instead? There’s a host of tools that can help you automate mundane marketing tasks. Yes. Breathe in. Breathe out!
